Marugame Uchiwa

Marugame clan makes three types of fans (uchiwa) which have become nationally designated traditional crafts. The Shibu-uchiwa, invented in 1633, the Medake Marue-uchiwa made since the 1780s, and the hirae-uchiwa developed in the 1880s.
