Chikurin-ji Temple (Temple No. 31)

Chikurin-ji Temple, located atop Mt. Godaisan, is one of the most famous temples in Kochi. It's possible to take in a view of Kochi City and Urado Bay from the picturesque location. Chikurin-ji Temple is a pond-viewing garden, and the view overlooking the western garden from the temple is made to look as though the building itself is standing on top of the water. The garden is a nationally designated scenic spot. All of the 17 Buddhist statues stored in the treasure hall are nationally designated Important Cultural Properties.

Transportation 1. Exit Kochi Expressway at the Kochi Interchange, then drive approx. 7km via route 44.
2. 10 minutes by Tosa Dentetsu Bus from Harimaya Bridge. Get off at Aoyanagibashi Higashizume, then walk 20 minutes.
