In Shikoku, unique trains are in service. Read the following to enjoy your trip.

<Local Train without Conductors: One-Man Crew Trains>

When getting on the train, board from the door at the rear of the train and getting off from the door at the front of the train.
If you do not have a ticket because of boarding at an unstaffed station, please take a numbered receipt from the dispenser near the train entrance. When getting off the train, hand the numbered receipt and pay the adjusted fare to the train’s driver. The driver may not have enough small change, so you should prepare small change before getting on the train.

In the interest of safety, wait until the train is stopped at a station to ask the driver any questions you may have.

If you are at a staffed station that does not have a fare adjustment counter, pay a fare adjustment to the staff at the ticket gate.
You can also adjust your ticket fare on the train. Pay a fare adjustment to the conductor (or the driver if you take One-Man Crew train).

<Missing a Train>

If you have a Reserved Seat ticket or First Class Car ticket and missed a train for which you have a reservation, you can travel on a non-reserved seat on a later train on the same day. If you want to sit on a reserved seat on a later train, you must pay the full charge for the seat separately.
